JOHNSTONS of Elgin staff have raised over £2000 for Rotary Elgin after selling all of their special Platinum Jubilee scarfs.
Staff at Johnstons of Elgin used excess cashmere fibres from their mill to create a limited batch of scarfs to mark The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Each of the 70 scarves, which were embroidered with the official Queen's Platinum Jubilee emblem, have now been sold with 50 per cent of each sale going towards supporting Elgin Rotary.
Dene Brebner, Retail Sales Floor Manager, presented Martin Birse and James Macpherson, both of Rotary Elgin, with a cheque for £2450 on Thursday, June 30 in support of Rotafest which took place on the Jubilee weekend.
George McNeil, Managing Director of Johnstons of Elgin's Retail Division, said: "Rotafest 2022 was a great success, and we are very pleased to have sold all 70 of our limited-edition scarves for Rotary in support of Rotafest and the Rotary Triple Challenge.
"We have worked with Rotary on many occasions over the years and are proud to continue supporting this organisation, who do invaluable work in our local community."
Ian Brodie, Rotary Elgin President, said: "I would like to thank Johnstons of Elgin for their generous donation, which will really make a difference to the people who need it most.
