And helping light up the magic of the season for the children will be the Santa’s grotto in the St Giles shopping centre.

The grotto will be a winter wonderland for young shoppers with the chance to meet the man himself and enjoy some amazing festive sights and sounds.

Angie Chisholm and her team at the centre have been pulling out all the stops to create a grotto with the real wow factor.

It will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday to coincide with the Elgin BID winter festival.

A team of volunteers from The Northern Scot will also be in the grotto with Scotty our newshound to collect donations for our annual toy and food appeal, which is in conjunction with the centre’s Giving Tree this year.

Every present donated will make a massive difference to someone.
