THE easing of lockdown to allow families to meet came just in time for one Buckie family to celebrate a very special occasion.

Elizabeth Davidson, who lives on the town's Millbank Terrace, got the best of surprises on Sunday, June 21 when members of her family turned up to help her celebrate her 80th birthday.

Making up the sight for sore eyes on her doorstep were her middle daughter Joyce Robertson and husband William, the couple's son Alfie (8) and Mrs Davidson's brother and sister-in-law Martin and Vina Reid

Mrs Robertson, who lives in Burghead, said: "We decorated mam's garden up while she was watching Elgin Baptist Church's service online and chapped the back door.

"When she opened it she got a great surprise. We enjoyed an afternoon tea in her back garden in Millbank Terrace and managed to avoid the rain."
