An ARR Craib truck's rear nearside tyre on a trailer exploded and caught fire.

The driver had to quickly detach his truck from the trailer and used a fire extinguisher himself.

Two fire units were at the scene.

The A96 was closed briefly at the Halfords Roundabout.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 10.10am on officers were called to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with traffic management after receiving a report of a lorry on fire on Alexandra Road, Elgin."
