A LOSSIEMOUTH family are doing their bit to keep the town entertained during the coronavirus shutdown.

The Lauriston family, husband and wife Alex and Emma and daughter Sadie (3), have been recreating scenes from famous films – an idea which has proven very popular.

Alex has been posting a photo a night on his personal Facebook account, which has become a staple of the lockdown for many friends.

Emma owns local bar the Steamboat Inn, and posted a compilation video of all of Alex and Sadie's film recreations on their Facebook page.

She said: "We were sitting in one night and Sadie had a bit of hair sticking up which Alex said made her look like Doc Brown from Back To The Future. That's how it started – they took a photo that night and it's been going for two weeks now.

"The video on our Facebook page has 2700 views – it's just something to make folk smile. I was in the co-op the other day and people were saying they are looking forward to the photos, which is great."

The film recreations do a good job of keeping Emma's mind off of work, too, with now a very worrying and stressful time for all local business owners.

She added: "It's a hectic time for us sorting wages and finding out if we are going to get a grant. This is keeping our minds off it a little bit.

"It's just nice that people are enjoying it."

And the trend is growing. Sarah Candy, who is a barmaid at the Steamboat Inn, has also been taking part with her two daughters.

She said: "I have got two daughters and they have been following it – so we did Wayne's World to join in. Alex was hoping everyone would join in and that's why he did it.

"It's a big friends group and there are a lot of people are sharing and commenting. If we didn't have one every night then people would be wondering where it is.

"It really is keeping people's spirits up."
