Firefighters from Lossiemouth Community Fire Station collected cash in Hopeman, Duffus and Lossie on December 22, on a drive-around with Santa Claus.

In total, £2167 was donated. Half of that will go to The Fire Fighters Charity, with the other half to be split equally between The Lossie 2-3 Group, Hopeman Community Association and Duffus Village Hall.

Firefighter Cameron MacDonald said: "We got massive support on the night, especially considering the weather, which was icy and freezing.

"We want to say a huge thanks to everyone who came out and donated. This is an annual thing again after Covid, so we'll see them again this year.

"The money is going to good local causes. The Fire Fighters Charity will always get half of the funds each time, but we'll always get different local causes involved."

Lloyd Fudge, who was behind the organising of the event, added: "We are so grateful to all those who came out in the cold to see us and to donate. We really appreciate your support."

Local charities that are interested in being recipients of next year's fundraising challenge should get in touch with Lossiemouth Community Fire Station on Facebook.
