Lossiemouth Seafest starts on Saturday

LOSSIEMOUTH locals can enjoy a week of fun filled activities as Seafest makes a grand return on Saturday.
The annual festival celebrating the towns fishing heritage will run for eight days from August 6 until August 14.
There will be an impressive 30 events over the course of the festival.
Regular highlights including the Sandcastle Competition, Summer Fayre and Paint the View Competition will return this year.
The marquee, bar and stage will also be reinstalled, after a year of absence due to Coronavirus restrictions.
This Saturday will see Seafest open with an evening BBQ and Marquee Dance.
The following day, locals can participate in a Dolphin Hunt, dance lessons with EJT dancing and quiz night from 7pm.
Monday's offerings will include a Teddy Bear's Picnic and the chance to see some real life creepy-crawlies with critter keeper shows throughout the afternoon.
The sandcastle competition, pet show and a family night with Paul T Mobile Disco will all take place on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, locals can participate in Yoga taster sessions, STEM workshops, arts and crafts classes and a Mocktails and Monet painting class with local artist Kirsti Vass.
The marquee will host an afternoon tea and a cocktails and canapés evening the following day.
Friday, August 12 will see a magic show and give locals the chance to tour the Covesea lighthouse.
The following Saturday will see the return of the much anticipated Summer Fayre, with over 50 stalls, live bands and entertainment including fairground rides, circus workshops and bouncy castles. Closing out the evening events on Saturday 13 is Beer Fest by Lossie football club.
The final two events of the eight day festival will take place on Sunday afternoon, with sailing and surfing lessons from 10-2pm at the West Beach and song of praise rounding out the events from 3-5pm in the marquee.
