A young man's message of support for the NHS is lighting up the sky around Keith.

.

Callum Stuart used no fewer than 1200 fairy lights on the roof of the house he shares with his grandma Jessie in Seafield Park.

He turned them on for the first time last night.

And, by complete coincidence, the first vehicle that went past was an ambulance.

Callum said: "I saw the ambulance driver turn off the main road and come up to have quick look – then they turned round and were off again.

"The NHS is doing an amazing job under a lot of pressure.

"I wanted to say thank-you."

In addition to his NHS message Callum has also decorated a tree in his garden.

This serves as a memorial to all the people who have died from coronavirus.

The 21-year-old, who normally works in the garden centre at Decora, is well known already around Moray for the amazing Christmas display he creates every year which can be seen by anyone driving west along the A96.

He's been decorating his home ever since the age of 14, making many of the lights himself by using a blow torch and various tools to mould plastic water pipes into shape.

Amongst his festive creations is the lighted message, "Lang may yer lum reek".
