AN ANNUAL charity tractor run is set to get under way from Tesco in Elgin this Sunday.
Tractors will gather at the supermarket's car park at 5pm on Sunday, August 14, for Lower Speyside Young Farmers' annual charity tractor run.
The run will start at 6pm and see tractors head for Lossiemouth, Hopeman, Cummingston, Burghead and Duffus before coming back to Tesco – where there will be ice cream from Miss Whippy and chips from The Whyte Bite from 8pm onwards.
There will be a chance for people to donate money at the car park, which is set to go towards Moray RDA (Riding for the Disabled). Last year the group raised funds for MFR Cash For Kids.
Lower Speyside Young Farmers' assistant treasurer Rachel Thomson, from Fogwatt, said: "We hope lots of people come out and support us and give us a wave on the route.
"We attracted a lot of public attention and donations last year and would like to make the event bigger this year.
"We are welcoming members, friends and family to take part – the more the merrier. It should be a great evening out for all the family to come along, see the tractors and stay for food and ice cream.
"Moray RDA is great local charity which does amazing things to help disabled children and adults, as well. It's a great cause. We are hoping to raise about £300 but more than that would be amazing."
Rachel hopes that around 20 tractors will attend and thanked Tesco in Elgin for allowing the use of their car park for the event.
Anyone wishing to make a donation online can do so. Information is available at www.facebook.com/LowerSpeysideYf.
