The Elgin branch of Marks & Spencer has teamed up with the Moray School Bank to help ease the burden on families facing financial hardship.

The charity, which was set up in 2017, provides new uniforms and warm winter clothing to ensure all children have equal opportunities to reach their potential at school.

Donna Bremner from M&S said: "We've recently been allowed to start supporting a local charity again, which is something we're very excited and passionate about.

"We picked six or seven good local causes, then held a vote amongst staff members. The result is that we've decided upon the Moray School Bank.

"I think it's going to be a fruitful partnership which will raise lots of money during the coming year and help to spread the word about the school bank's great work."

Moyra Younnie and Debi Weir from the charity visited the supermarket to launch the partnership. They were met there by Donna as well as Imogen Allen along with Moray's MSP Richard Lochhead.
