ACTS set to play on the second stage at the MacMoray Family Easter Festival in April have been announced.

A total of 11 groups have been confirmed for the festival – due to take place on April 29 and 30, 2023 – including a number of bands well-known on the local music scene.

A number of pipe bands and non-musical acts have been announced for the stage, continuing the 'something for everyone' festival theme.

The acts announced are: Torridon, Bombskare, Tweed, Connor Fyfe, The Forty Elephants, Fragz, Forgetting The Future, Veri & MacTa, Mackay Mine Pipe Band, Moray Concert Brass and EJT Dance.

Torridon are perhaps the most well-known band locally, having played several shows in the Highlands and north-east.

Torridon take to the stage in Inverness's Ironworks for Scotland first, live, indoor gig since lockdown.

Their single 'Highland Girl' has been streamed almost 700,000 times on online music platform Spotify alone.

Ska band Bombskare are also popular locally, as are ceilidh band Tweed.

Connor Fyfe may only be in his mid-teens, but has already sold out King Tuts – the bustling live music venue in central Glasgow – on two occasions.

Moray Concert Brass, The Forty Elephants and EJT Dance – from the studio in Elgin – will provide a local taste to a festival which has attracted artists from Germany and the Netherlands.

The Forty Elephants, who sing Americana/country music, announced that they'd be partaking in the festival on social media.

A post read: "We are super excited to be playing at the same festival as bands such as Big Country and The Buzzcocks.

"We can't wait to see you there!"

Fragz, a rock group, come from Buckie, while Forgetting The Future have members from the Highland town of Thurso.

Also playing at the festival are Veri & MacTa and Mackay Mini Pipe Band.
