THE body of a 28-year-old man was found within the grounds of Kinloss Barracks on Sunday morning.

A major police presence was on-site at the Barracks yesterday after the man was found just inside the perimeter fence, near the camp's ring road.

The death is currently being described as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 11.50am on Sunday, March 7, a 28-year-old man was found dead within the perimeter fence at Kinloss Barracks beside the B9011 between Findhorn and Kinloss.

"A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death which police are currently treating as unexplained.

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."

A police presence remains on the Barracks today.

The B9011 was closed for around six hours on Sunday but is now open as normal.
