Man (43) arrested and charged after one-vehicle collision on Elgin roundabout

A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a single car crash in Elgin on Friday night.

The incident took place on the roundabout beside Elgin High Street and the Royal Mail Delivery Office.

A car made contact with the roadside barrier, destroying a section of fencing at the crossing. The road was closed for nearly two hours as a result of the incident.

The man is due to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court with regard to the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 6.35pm on Friday, February 17, police were called to the roundabout at High Street, Elgin, following a report of a one-vehicle crash. The road was cleared around 8.25pm.

“A 43-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences. He is expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court at a later date.”
