Man (53) taken to hospital after two-car crash on the A96 outside Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin

A MAN has been taken to hospital after a two-car collision outside Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin.

The crash took place on West Road, near to the Esso Garage and the hospital, this morning (Monday, February 13) before 11am.

As a result of the crash, a 53-year-old man was taken to hospital via ambulance.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 10.56am on Monday, February 13, to reports of a road traffic collision in Elgin.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the town's West Road, where firefighters assisted one casualty to safety before passing them into the care of paramedics.

"Crews thereafter left the scene after working to make the area safe."

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed their attendance at the incident, and said enquiries into the crash are ongoing

"At around 10.55am on Monday, February 13, officers were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash," the spokesperson said.

"A 53-year-old man was taken to hospital by ambulance. The road was reopened around at 1.25pm and enquiries are ongoing."
