Man (58) found dead in the River Lossie in Elgin

A 58-year-old man was found dead in the River Lossie in Elgin overnight, police have confirmed.

Officers who were searching for a missing person discovered a body at around 2am.

An area of the river in Elgin was cordoned off this morning, with police on the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The body of a 58-year-old man was found in the River Lossie in Elgin around 2am on Monday, November 6, during searches for a missing person.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
