A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the racist attack on Elgin Mosque.

Swastikas and other insulting graffiti were spray painted over the outside walls and windows of the building in Gordon Street on Monday evening.

Extensive enquiries have been ongoing since then, with police officers making door to door enquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Thank you to those who have assisted with our investigation so far."
