A 31-year-old man has been charged after an HGV collided with a railway bridge in Inverness on Monday

The HGV toppled over at about 11am in Lower Kessock Street, causing the closure of the road for several hours.

ScotRail cancelled north and westbound services until 6.30pm while the bridge was checked.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
