Man due to appear in court after armed police stand-off in Elgin

A 27-year-old man is set to appear in court tomorrow following last night's tense stand-off with armed police.

Police Scotland confirmed that officers were called to Findhorn Court at around 6.30pm on Wednesday evening following a report of a disturbance within a property.

The 27-year-old man was arrested several hours later and charged. He is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Friday.

Inspector Andrew Wilson from Elgin Police Station said: "This incident was contained to the single property and nobody was injured.

"The local community are thanked for their understanding while officers worked to bring this to a safe conclusion."
