A MAN appeared in court today in connection with the theft of three high-value cars from an Elgin showroom.

Darren Malone, from Edinburgh, made a private appearance at Inverness Sheriff Court.

The 25-year-old made no plea to two charges of theft by housebreaking and three of the theft of motor vehicles.

Malone was committed for further examination and released on bail.

Police Scotland said its enquiries were continuing.
