Graeme Ross found this medal, which once belonged to a J Rigby, when he moved home.

Graeme Ross, who now stays in Ayrshire, found a medal marked ECFC 1902, with the name J Rigby on it, when moving house recently.

There are also scribblings on the back of the medal.

Mr Ross believes the medal used to belong to his father – who lived in Elgin his whole life until he died a decade ago.

"I found it in and amongst my stuff that I'd got at my father's house when he died 10 years ago," he said.

"I have no idea how it came into my possession. It's a mystery. When I saw it I thought rather than me have it it should go back to someone in the family.

"It would be nice to get it back to someone down the family line, even grandchildren or great grandchildren."
