GLORIOUS sunshine attracted a bumper turnout to Logan's Family Fun Day in Lossiemouth at the weekend as the fundraiser turned 10.

The annual fun day celebrates the life of local youngster Logan Main, who died aged just three in 2009 after being diagnosed with aggressive cancer neuroblastoma. The Logan's Fund charity aims to do everything it can to support families affected by childhood cancer.

Logan's family took the emotional decision to press on with the fun day after a bereavement in the preceding week.

Local singing sensation Jada Louise performed a heart-felt event opener on Sunday, August 25, with a cover of Lady Gaga's Always Remember Us This Way, surrounded by some of the families supported by Logan's Fund over the years.

The families sent thousands of bubbles into the sun-filled sky at Lossiemouth playing fields.

Demonstrations and routines from Sfear Kickboxing, and All Stars and Stripes Cheers and Dance kept the crowds entertained all day in the performance ring.

Elsewhere in the field local groups such as Outfit Moray, Vallen Fitness Studio, Elgin Duellist and Fencing Club and Glenlivet Archery had queues of people all afternoon looking to try their hand at new activities.

Life-size furry mascots and cosplayers posed for smiley photographs all afternoon while food outlets, charity and craft stalls did a roaring trade.

The quality of entertainment in the ring didn't let up as the afternoon wore on with performances from Zara Mortimer School of Dance, Active Gymnastics and magician Dean Spruce.

Moo Music and Dreamtime Community Arts delivered lively audience participation sessions.

It was fun all the way for young revellers with inflatables, fair rides, a kids craft tent, face painting, bungee trampolines, the Tam O' Shunter land train, and the owls from 2wit 2woo on hand.

Cameron Mackintosh, Logan's Fund chairman, said: "We are absolutely blown away by the fantastic support we received in our 10th year – it was more than we dared dream of.

"The sad irony is that there was a huge dark cloud over the event as it was in danger of being cancelled in the days leading up to it as Logan's Granny Kate passed away just a few days prior to the event. But it was the family's wish that the event take place in her honour.

"We are indebted to all the volunteers who answered the call and helped make the event possible and ultimately a great success.

"There were so many highlights from the day and special little things to take in or happening we think everyone will have their own special memory from our 10th year."
