LOSSIEMOUTH Military Wives Choir members are tuning up for their first ever Christmas Carol Concert in the town this year.

The singers will present traditional carols, military-inspired Christmas poems written by choir members, and a showcase of their own Christmas music on Saturday, December 7. Preparations for the concert began back in summer.

They will also perform their six-part version of "Home for Christmas" and upbeat festive songs about Christmas jumpers and the trials of shopping.

The Military Wives Choirs is a registered charity supporting women who have links to the Armed Forces. It now connects more than 2000 women across the network's 75 choirs in the UK and at bases overseas.

The Lossiemouth choir was established in 2015 and has nearly 30 members.

Lauren Hayward said the choir boasted "a large repertoire of music and lots of incredible voices".

She added: "All of our ladies that sing with the Lossiemouth Military Wives Choir have one thing in common – their connection to the military and their love of singing. We all form bonds through music and believe that we are stronger together."

The concert will take place at Lossiemouth Baptist Church, at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm.

Tickets are available at the door and from the Re:Store shop in Lossiemouth, priced £8.
