Coronavirus in Moray and Aberdeenshire: Minute's silence at 11am today

Moray Council is paying tribute today at 11am to those who have lost their lives at work, or suffered a work-related injury.
International Workers’ Memorial Day is a global call to ‘Remember the Dead and Fight for the Living’.
It’s a message which is even more poignant this year, as frontline workers continue their fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Moray Council joins the many other Scottish councils paying their respects.
Flags are today flying at half-mast at Moray Council’s HQ in Elgin, and the minute’s silence will be observed at 11am.
Shona Morrison, the convener of Moray Council, said: "This year International Workers’ Memorial Day is a particularly poignant event.
"We remember those who have lost their lives through industrial incidents and disease, and that includes the many around the world who have contracted Coronavirus in the course of their duties as key workers.
Despite the risks, people are getting on with the vital work that they do in healthcare settings, in childcare hubs, emergency services, supermarket workers, delivery drivers, public transport workers, waste operatives, utilities workers and many, many others.
"They continue to do these jobs because they are conscientious, hard-working – and know how important their efforts are to our society, especially in the current circumstances."
"It is important that we stop and take time to recognise those efforts and the sacrifices made by many workers right across the world."
