MORAY Art Centre has widened its offering in the launch of its new spring programme.

Classes and workshops designed to boost creative confidence include the "zen of drawing" and exploring painting outdoors. The centre is offering classes, workshops and Easter holiday drop-in sessions, starting in early February, for all abilities.

Award-winning artists Alan McGowan, Owen Normand, Jonathan Shearer and Kenneth Le Riche are lined up to lead activities, along with celebrated landscape artist Kirstie Cohen and local artists such as Celia Forestal Smith and Diane Main. Contemporary artist Naomi Ojima will be teaching at the centre for the first time.

Art centre trustee Rosemary Innes said: "The Moray Art Centre (MAC) is so pleased to be able to offer a wide range of exciting new creative experiences for local people to participate in the arts.

"We're really fortunate to have attracted such high-quality tutors to teach with us, some local and some Edinburgh-based who are regular tutors at Leith School of Art."

.

The centre will also repeat the intensive six-week MAC summer school from July 6 to August 14, hosting 12 artists running week-long workshops. Last year's summer school attracted international and local visitors.
