Moray Art Centre has opened its bursary scheme for the fourth year running, with 12 spaces available for their annual Summer School, which runs from June until September.

As a registered charity Moray Art Centre are focussed on making art accessible to all. For 2023, Moray Art Centre are offering a fully-funded place each week to anyone who struggles to find the means to join the five-day arts courses but would love to be part of one of the workshops available.

During the course, creatives can learn from award winning artists and tutor, with workshops available for everything from clay sculpture, painting, textile weaving, printing, botanical book making and more.

Moray Art Centre Trustee, Bill Austin said: “Moray Art Centre’s Summer School has established itself as one of the highlights of the cultural year. This year, we are pleased to offer a varied programme of 12 visual arts workshops, led by some terrific tutors from years past but also introducing some new and exciting faces to the region.”

Located in Findhorn, Moray Art Centre champions local artists and celebrates the rich culture throughout Moray and the North of Scotland, with creative workshops, classes, seasonal programmes, residencies and events for all to enjoy.

Previous Summer School bursary receiver, and fourth year Moray Art School student, Erin Matheson said: “Being given a funded place at the 2021 Summer school hugely impacted my creative development.

"Studying BA (hons) in Fine Art at Moray School of Art and having the opportunity to attend a 5-Day Portrait Painting workshop led by Alan Davies, really paved the way for the practice I have now. From never painting in oils before, to it becoming my sole medium right to the end of my degree, it allowed me to find my style”.

To apply email Moray Art Centre at: bursaries@morayartcentre.org with information on why you would like to join the 5-day workshop and why this subsidised place will help, in your current circumstance.
