The call has gone out for artists of all types to sign up for North East Open Studios.

Taking place between September 9 and 17, the event is one of the biggest of its type in the UK and will feature a wealth of creative talent from Moray, Aberdeenshire and Angus.

Lynne Staples-Scott, the event's chairperson, said: "The fact that NEOS is having its 20th anniversary is thanks to the dedication and collaboration of countless people over the years.

"Over that time, NEOS has grown to be one of the largest events of its kind in the country, with up to 400 artists taking part across the area.

"Our nine-day long open studios event is a great opportunity for artists and makers to share and talk about their creative processes with interested visitors and to encourage and inspire each other.

"Our members also tell us that NEOS is an important event for networking, selling art and making contacts.

Artists and makers have until the end of this month to sign up.

There is no application process but entries are limited to 300, so operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

It is estimated that approximately 20,000 visits are made to NEOS members over the nine days.
