They formed for a one-off charity gig more than 25 years ago and, such was their popularity, they are still performing to sell-out crowds to this day.

This year, the big band will be joined on stage by Colin's son Craig, who is highly acclaimed on the London music scene. Also joining them is trumpeter Glenn Munro, who is well known as both a top brass musician and teacher.

Bill Hope, who has promoted more than 40 dances at Elgin Town Hall in support of Unicef, said it will again be a night to remember.

Mr Hope said: "It's the last of the big dances. Once upon a time, there was the Fireman's Dance, the NHS dance.. the list goes on. This is the sole survivor and it is a wonderful night. People always leave a Sold on Soul dance saying, 'that was a great night'."

This year's event is being run in partnership with Elgin Town Hall for the Community, which means there will be two professionally-run bars and tickets can be bought online via www.elgintownhall.co.uk.

Those who prefer can purchase paper tickets from Sound and Vision, on South Street, or by contacting Mr Hope on 01343 543092. It is an 18+ event and doors open at 7.30pm and dancing starts at 8.30pm.
