Moray & Banffshire Heroes is back and we’re looking for your nominations for the amazing real-life heroes in your community.

We want to hear all about your dedicated fundraisers, volunteers, carers, teachers, community champions and green heroes. Tell us about the outstanding members of the health service, emergency services and armed forces who go above and beyond their duty.

Categories also celebrate inspiring young people; from hard-working pupils to brave children who overcome great adversity in their lives.

For 2024 there are some new award categories which recognise the contribution of charitable organisations, entire schools and green community ventures which all make such a difference to their town and villages.

Moray & Banffshire Heroes 2024 is once again sponsored by Inverness Airport.

Inverness Airport general manager, Graeme Bell, said: “It’s a huge pleasure to support another year of Moray and Banffshire Heroes. Each year there is an amazing array of real community heroes who put others first and display inspiring actions that we can all learn from. We are lucky to have these people in our day-to-day lives, making a real difference to those around them.

“Please make sure that you recognise the heroes in your lives by nominating them and giving them the spotlight they deserve.”

Highland News & Media managing director, Steve Barron, added: “We’re delighted to once again shine a spotlight on the local heroes in communities across Moray and Banffshire who do so much for others without asking for any kind of recognition in return.

“Every year, we are inspired and moved by stories of kindness, compassion, dedication and bravery.

“We believe these real-life heroes deserve to be recognised and celebrated, and we know you do too. We urge readers to nominate their local heroes and we will help shine a light on the amazing contribution they make to their communities.”
