CHILDREN’S outdoor charity Earthtime have announced a free event at Grant Park, Forres, for families to take part in Christmas-themed activities and experience the outdoors together.

The nature play drop-in session will take place on Sunday, December 3, from 10am-12pm and will give children the opportunity to explore different activities in the great outdoors.

Kids under the age of 12 will be able to participate in many fun tasks, including bug hunting, messy play, and outdoor crafting.

Earthtime encourages children to spend time outdoors, as it is proven to improve people’s mood, lower the body’s blood pressure and give children the opportunity to explore and play freely.

Earthtime’s community project manager, Fran Reynolds, said: “We know Christmas can be an expensive time of year and we are delighted to be able to offer this activity for free.

“Indoor activities don’t suit all children, as the bright lights, music and busy environment can be overwhelming.

“We are glad to offer something different in an open space, where children and families can have a relaxed, festive experience that might better suit their needs.

“Wrap up warm and come on down with your kids for some relaxed outdoor play and Christmas crafting in the park.”

The event will begin beside the squash court at Grant Park and free snacks will be available.

Booking is encouraged from buytickets.at/earthtime.
