Visits to three nearby beaches feature on Scotland's most dog-friendly days-out according to TripAdvisor reviews.

The sand dunes at Findhorn, Nairn and Cullen have all been included in the top 10 list.

Shannon Keary is from the dog-friendly holiday provider Canine Cottages, which crunched the TripAdvisor numbers in order to create the top 10.

She said "With so many more people looking to explore what’s on their own doorstep with their dogs this summer, it’s fantastic to see the sheer number and diversity of places that welcome dogs across the country.

"Hopefully this can only continue to grow."

Canine Cottages has released the Dog-Friendly Index, a digital tool to find dog-friendly places recommended by TripAdvisor reviewers.

Each site has also been given a paw rating out of five, with only places rated three paws or higher featuring in the tool.

Also among the top 10 dog-friendly beaches are:

  • Yellowcraig Beach, Dirleton, East Lothian;
  • Elie Beach, Elie, Fife; Irvine Beach, Irvine, Ayrshire;
  • Lunan Bay, Inverkeilor, Angus;
  • Troon Beach, Troon, Ayrshire;
  • Coldingham Sands, Eyemouth, Borders;
  • Portobello Beach, Edinburgh.
