STORM force winds are forecast to blast Moray tomorrow.

A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office of strong south-westerly winds for parts of Scotland. Gusts of 50-60mph are likely, with 70-75mph winds around some of the most exposed coastal and upland sites.

The warning, which comes into force at 5am tomorrow and runs until 9pm, had initially affected Wester Ross but has been extended further eastward to encompass Moray.

Issuing its revised warning, the Met Office said some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport were likely and disruption could include short-term loss of power.

It said coastal communities could be affected by spray and large waves.
