A MORAY business which launched its sanitiser brand in May has vowed to support NHS Charities Together with a £100,000 donation.

Just Sanitise, based on a 10-acre site in Craigellachie, has produced millions of litres of hand sanitiser and supported more than 50 jobs during lockdown.

Now, it has committed to a £100,000 donation to NHS Charities Together in its first year, as well as donating its sanitiser to community organisations across the United Kingdom.

The brand, which is already World Health Organisation approved, was developed by Aberdeen business partners Nicola Hartland and Brent Bowie to counteract PPE costs and help businesses fight the virus.

Just Sanitise co-founder Nicola Hartland said: “We have seen a great response to the product in the first three months of business and have been overwhelmed by the support we have received, particularly from customers in the north-east as businesses in the region are clearly focused on supporting each other and investing in locally-produced products.

“The recent cluster in Aberdeen has been a massive blow for the economy, particularly for the hospitality sector, but it has also been a wake-up call that the health, safety and protection of staff and customers must be a priority as we continue to fight this ongoing battle with a deadly virus. It is crucial that businesses invest in the most effective PPE.

“We haven’t just diversified into this industry, we are a business entirely focused on producing one of the most effective sanitisers on the market to kill human coronavirus quickly and, with a long term license, our team is committed to helping the country stop the spread of this virus in our communities.”

The brand has recently achieved a new industry accreditation following laboratory tests which confirmed the product is highly effective and quick acting against viruses, including human coronavirus.

With a self-funded investment of £2million, the first quarter has resulted in the business securing a large supermarket deal and delivering supplies to seven European countries, including Spain, France and Germany, with a fleet of 75 vehicles transporting the product across the UK and Europe.

In addition to producing the quick drying hand sanitiser, Just Sanitise has now produced a surface spray and launched an online shop.
