Keiran's Legacy, which helps support communities in Moray by providing lifesaving defibrillators, will host the free event at Miltonduff Hall on June 25.

Organisers have promised a fun filled evening with a BBQ, music, raffle and an auction with a range of prizes including a four-ball at Royal Dornoch golf course valued at £995.

The fundraiser has added significance for Gordon and Sandra McKandie. The couple set up the charity following a fatal accident involving their only son Keiran in 2016.

The milestone event for Keiran's Legacy will mark 5 years of the charity and Keiran's 21st birthday.

Sandra McKandie, Founder and Chair at Keiran's Legacy, said: "When we first set up Keiran's Legacy after Keiran's accident our aim was to purchase and install 3 defibrillators in the Police Fast Response Vehicles who responded initially to try and help Keiran.

"In 5 years we have installed over 170. We couldn’t have done this without the huge support of businesses and the local community, that is why it is so important for us to say thank you and invite the community to come along to our Summer Event.

"We are extremely grateful for the continued support to ensure Keiran continues to change practice and be part of saving lives.

"However, the last two years have been extremely difficult with all of our fundraising events cancelled so your support for our summer event will kickstart the fundraising and ensure that Keiran's Legacy will continue to support emergency services and ensure community resilience is increased and more lives can be saved."

To date, in Keiran's honour, the charity has saved nine people's lives, distributed 170 defibrillators and educated over 1600 people.

This latest announcement comes at an important period of growth for the charity as they appoint new charity trustees and will soon launch a new training service which aims to advance education and community resilience across Scotland.
