MORAY Concert Brass is promising several blasts of sunshine to help stave off the winter blues.
As well as giving a special performance at Elgin's Eight Acres Hotel for the asylum seekers currently housed there, the acclaimed brass band are also about to give a public concert at St Giles Church.
Glenn Munro, Moray Concert Brass’s founder and musical director, said: "It has always been an important part of the band's ethos that we have several concerts a year to raise money for local charities and good causes."
Speaking about the St Giles concert, taking place on the last day of this month, Glenn added: "It's going to be a great evening of family entertainment. Even better, under-12s and all Moray Music Centre pupils can come for free.
"It's a great opportunity for young people to witness live music and see what fun it is to be part of a band."
Tunes ranging from Beatles classics to well-known film scores are going to be on offer.
There will also be the chance to hear two fantastic young soloists – Dearbhla McIntyre on trumpet and Dea Nunag on violin.
The St Giles concert is taking place on Saturday, September 30.
Doors open 7pm, for a 7.30pm start. Tickets, which are just £8 (£6 cons), will be available at the door or by emailing mcb21@gmail.com
The private concert for the asylum seekers will take place at the Eight Acres the following Thursday.
During the coming months Moray Concert Brass shall also be playing Elgin Town Hall on November 24, and Lossiemouth Town Hall on December 3.
In addition, it will give its annual Christmas carol concert on the Elgin Plainstones during the course of Saturday, December 23.
