However, a special meeting of the full council will take place on Wednesday, September 14 at 9.30am.

This will call on Civic Leader, Cllr John Cowe, to send a letter of condolence to His Majesty King Charles III on behalf of Moray Council and residents.

The audit and scrutiny, and special education, children's and leisure services committees planned for Wednesday will not take place.

A new date has yet to be fixed for the audit committee, while the education meeting will take place at the next full council on September 28.

The local review body due to take place this Thursday has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a future date.

Community and parent councils are invited to make their own decisions on whether or not to proceed with meetings.

A spokesperson for Moray Council said: "There is no Moray-wide directive but the general position for public meetings is essential and inescapable business only."
