To help deal with the backlog of plastic/cans and of paper Moray Council is dedicating separate lorries to collect each form of waste.

.

This means that purple and blue bins might not be collected at exactly the same time.

A council spokesperson explained: "As you’d expect, our recycling wagons are filling up quicker than normal – particularly with cans and plastics.

"To stop our drivers having to make as many trips back to the depot, we’ll be putting out separate vehicles for plastics/cans, and for paper.

"This means they’ll only have to return to depot when the wagon is at capacity, not just plastics/cans or paper is at capacity.

"Please make sure your bins are out by 7.30am.

"And, remember, one recycling bin may be emptied at a different time to the other.

"Thanks for your continued patience."
