Moray Council's Christmas closures and time changes

MANY Moray Council run facilities will be shutting down or changing their hours for a few days this festive period.

LEISURE FACILITIES: Buckie Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre, Forres Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre, Keith Sports and Community Centre, Lossiemouth Sports and Community Centre and Speyside Sports and Community Centre will all be closed from Tuesday, December 24, at 4pm, until Thursday, December 26, inclusive and from Tuesday, December 31, until Thursday, January 2, inclusive. Swimming lessons resume on Monday, January 6.

Elgin Sports and Community Centre, Football pitches and pavilions will be closed from Saturday, December 21, until Sunday, January 5, inclusive. Normal timetable will be back from Monday, January 6.

Forres Community Centre will be closed from Sunday, December 22, until Sunday, January 5, inclusive.

Milne’s Fitness Suite, Fochabers, and Elgin High Sports Centre will be closed from Sunday, December 22, until Thursday, January 2, inclusive.

TOILETS: All public toilets will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, as well as New Year's Day at January 2.

CAR PARKS: St Giles and Batchen Lane multi-storey car parks will be closed from Tuesday, December 24, at 7pm until Thursday, December 26, at 9am and from Tuesday, December 31, from 7pm to Thursday, January 2 at 9am. Alternative street level parking is available.

LIBRARIES: Buckie, Elgin, Forres and Keith libraries will close at 3pm on December 24. Dufftown library will be open between 10am and noon. Aberlour, Burghead, Cullen, Fochabers and Tomintoul libraries will be closed.

All libraries will closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day and from December 31 until January 2. The mobile library service will not operate from Monday, December 23, until Friday, January 3, inclusive.

REGISTRARS: Elgin registrars office will be closed from Christmas Eve at 3pm until Friday, December 27, at 9am and then from Monday, December 30, at 4.30pm until Friday, January 3, at 9am. The registrars will be open, strictly by appointment, on Friday, December 27, and Monday, December 30. Should a registrar require to be contacted urgently, call 07400 024342 or 07541 295181

SCOTTISH WELFARE FUND: Crisis grants under the Scottish Welfare Fund offers a service on Friday, December 27, Monday 30, December 30, and Tuesday, December 31. Applications can be made online (www.moray.gov.uk/scottishwelfarefund) or by calling 03457 565656.

CARE AT HOME SERVICE: Care at home will operate on the following hours: Tuesday, December 24, 8.45am – 3pm; Friday, December 27, 8.45am – 5pm; Monday, December 30, 8.45am – 5pm and Tuesday, December 31, 8.45am – 3pm. Existing care at home users will be provided with their normal level of service. You can make payments, report non-emergency faults and submit certain requests at www.moray.gov.uk.
