MORAY Council has published its service arrangements for the festive period.

You can find all the relevant details for council offices, sports and leisure facilities, libraries, car parks, registrars, bins, recycling centres, care at home services and toilets below.

Council offices

All council offices will be closed between 3pm on Thursday, December 24, and Tuesday, January 5, at 8.45am

Over the holiday period the emergency out-of-hours service will operate as normal on 03457 565656 for all council services, including matters of child protection. You can make payments, report non-emergency faults and submit certain requests at www.moray.gov.uk

Sports & Leisure Facilities

Moray Council's indoor and outdoor leisure facilities will not re-open as planned after the Christmas break. It is hoped the facilities can re-open in mid-January. Given the anticipated re-opening date, the council isn’t freezing FitLife? direct debit membership payments for January, but will keep further payments under review based on Scottish Government guidance and restrictions.

The council will not permit any indoor or outdoor lets during this time, as in Level 4 contact sports are not permitted.

Libraries

Aberlour, Buckie, Elgin, Forres, Keith, Lossiemouth and Tomintoul libraries will re-open from January 5 for order and collect only.

No other services will be available at any libraries. You can order by phoning 01343 562600 or at www.moray.gov.uk/moray_standard/page_1472.html.

The mobile library will be back on the road from January 11.

If there's any disruption to these collections, the council will post this on their service portal and set out when they will return for missed bins.

There will be no brown bin collections from Monday, December 21, to Friday, January 1, inclusive. Real Christmas trees can be presented alongside your brown bin from Monday, January 4, and will be uplifted regardless of whether you have a garden waste permit.

Recycling centres

Recycling centres will be closed from Christmas Day to Sunday, December 27, inclusive and Friday, January 1, to Sunday, January 3, inclusive.
