The winning drink, which uses a signature roast from the Speyside Coffee Roasting Company, is part of the unique offering of the independent company, which was founded in June 2015.

The team has received four awards so far this year, including a two-star Great Taste award for El:gin's oak distilled Coirce vodka, while its artisan gin received a one-star award.

The Scottish Gin awards brought together key players in the booming industry, from founders to distillers, marketers and press.

Judging was carried out by a panel of more than 30 leading spirits experts from across the UK, who assessed 104 written entries and blind tasted 173 Scottish Gins. Of these, 117 gins were named finalists.
