Moray Emergency Relief Fund soars past £135k

THE Moray Emergency Relief Fund has now received applications for help from 170 people.
The fund, set up by the Lord Lieutenants of Moray and Banffshire, has so far pulled in £135,000 in donations.
Cash grants have been allocated totalling £26,000 so far, plus £12,000 worth of computer and printer equipment on loan from Moray Council to help people home school their children.
Major General Seymour Monro, the Lord Lieutenant of Moray, paid tribute to all those who have supported the fund.
It will remain open for as long as there are people facing financial hardship as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
