MORAY Girls are enjoying a well-earned summer break after an undefeated first half to the season.

The youngsters have won seven games out of seven and secured a place in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Graham McKenzie, who is coach alongside Brian Mann, said: "It's been a great start to the season.

"We will keep going with our training over the summer holidays and back to league action on August 24.

"Girls are always welcome to join with training on Tuesday nights at the Cooper Park, from 6-7.30pm."

The girls will face a tough match at home against Donside Girls on Saturday, September 7, in the quarter-finals to vie for a place in the semi-finals. Donside Girls compete in the same league.

There was another big lift for the young team when Jim Gordon, of Spey Bay Golf Club, boosted the club with a donation of £200.

Mr McKenzie said the club were delighted with Mr Gordon's donation, which would go a long way towards costs such as referee fees, hire and kit.
