TWO Moray meeting places will benefit from substantial works thanks to a national funding body.

Archiestown Village Council will use its £7074 from the Big Lottery Fund to help install new flooring in the local village hall.

That will complement the overall upgrade of the hall, improving the facilities and helping to attract more local community groups to use the space.

Also benefitting is the Three Kings Cullen Association, which will use its £6500 to install a second toilet in the community and residential centre to provide separate facilities for groups hiring rooms and residential guests.

The Moray recipients are among 167 groups across Scotland sharing grants totalling more than £1.1 million from the National Lottery Award for All Scotland pot, which is a joint awards programme from The National Lottery Community Fund, Creative Scotland and sportscotland.

The body makes grants to help people take part in arts, sport, social, environmental, health related, educational and other community activities.

Applications for the fund are received on a rolling basis and can be submitted at any time.

Visit www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk or phone 0300 123 7110 for details.
