ALL of Moray's libraries, community centres, pools and leisure centres will shut tomorrow in another drastic move to minimise the coronavirus threat.

From the end of the day tomorrow, Friday, March 20, the region's recreation facilities will move into temporary shutdown.

Elgin Library will close at 5pm rather than its usual closing time of 8pm.

The council has taken the decision, it says, due to a reduced number of staff available to run the services as large numbers follow government self-isolation advice, and a reduced number of people coming through the doors as they cut unnecessary social contact.

The council said the move will allow a focus on providing critical services at this time.

It added: "We will not deduct monthly payments for FitLife memberships for the duration of the closure, and we look forward to welcoming our customers back when we re-open."
