Three author events are the highlight of the programme this year, which is supported by Creative Scotland and the Scottish Library Information Council (SLIC).

The theme for 2021 is 'celebration' and Scottish Book Trust is marking ten years of Book Week Scotland. The charity is also hosting free, digital events across their social media networks through their Digital Festival.

Moray Council's Interim Principal Librarian, Philip Davidson, said: "We're delighted to be able to welcome readers and writers back to in-person events while continuing our digital offering. It promises to be another fantastic Book Week Scotland here in Moray and we look forward to seeing our book lovers again."

The first author event in Moray is a foray into Doric with Mae Diansangu at Buckie Library on Monday, November 15. The event looks at the use of Doric in today's world.

At Elgin Library on Wednesday 17 November there will be an 'unravelling' of crime writing with lawyer and writer Helen Forbes. Helen will be talking about her latest thriller entitled 'Unravelling', which features Inverness’ iconic psychiatric hospital, Craig Dunain.

The third event is an online workshop for budding writers on November 18, led by the celebrated Inverness biographer of Josephine Tey, Jennifer Morag Henderson. Jennifer will talk about research for the creative writer.

Social distancing will be in place at the venues and numbers are will be limited. Places can be booked at the specific libraries by phoning Buckie Library on 01542 832121 or emailing buckie.library@moray.gov.uk. Elgin Library can be contacted on 01343 562600 and online.
