A MORAY man has been arrested after being found in a pub while under curfew.

Police attended 55-year-old Christopher Jiggins' home to check if he was observing his curfew to find he was absent.

Officers then traced him to a local pub, where he was arrested.

Jiggins, previously of Queen Street, Lossiemouth, but now living in Batch Valley, Shropshire, was routinely searched for safety reasons on the evening of June 8 and a knife and an axe were found.

Jiggins admitted a breach of bail and possessing the weapons in a public place without reasonable excuse and he was fined a total of £1275 by Sheriff Sara Matheson.

His solicitor Ross Anderson told Inverness Sheriff Court: "He was wearing a belt and used them in the course of his work.

"But he had gone to the pub with it on."
