A Moray motorist who's been caught drink driving on three separate occasions this year has been told "not to make any plans".

This message was given by a sheriff to defendant Mark Ewan when he appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court yesterday.

The 42-year-old gave a breath test reading of 99 when he was stopped on Calcots Road in Elgin on June 3.

That's four-and-a-half-times the legal limit of 22.

When Ewan was stopped near Speyburn Distillery at Rothes on April 10 the reading was 138, which is more than six times the limit.

On January 20 he was stopped outside his former home in Willow Place, Elgin, and gave a reading of 38.

Ewan's current address was given in court papers as Guildry House.

The case against him was adjourned until December 15 to allow social workers to compile a report on his background.

Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood commented: "I wouldn't be making too many plans after the middle of December if I were you."
