A Keith man who threatened to set his dog on detectives has been fined £1000.

Ross Harper, of Colvin Court, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court today and also admitted shouting and swearing at the officers.

Fiscal depute Emily Hood told the court that, on August 23 last year, the police were confronted by Harper after they went to an address at Bogbain, near Inverness on an unrelated matter.

The 35-year-old was arrested following his outburst and taken to Elgin Police Station.

Ms Hood said: "His behaviour continued to be volatile and he urinated on his cell door."
