A MORAY mountain bike trail has added a new family friendly zip wire just in time for the warmer weather.
The Bike Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trail Centre announced the new feature after more than two years of planning.
Thanks to financial assistance from Crown Estate Scotland the trail has now opened to the public and includes 13 zip wires and two high bridges.
The centre’s offering has developed since its current director Barry Edmondson took over the lease four years ago.
Visitors can now hire bikes for half a day, have lunch in the café and can now enjoy the thrills and spills of the zip wire trail challenge.
The centre says that it has enjoyed a successful opening of the new zip wire with people as young as eight and as old as 80 getting involved.
Mr Edmondson said: “When we took on the lease of the trail centre at the beginning of the pandemic, we knew that the site had so much to offer.
“We started by adding a new mountain bike jump line and then collaborated with the Keirans Legacy charity to build what is, without doubt, the best free ride line in the country, if not the UK.
“We have also added easier trails for less experienced riders and it just made sense to add another activity to make Bike Glenlivet a full day adventure for visitors who are not necessarily die-hard mountain bikers.
“The forest which makes up a large part of the trail centre is ideally suited to installing zip wires.
“We have been able to take on an extra team member who lives locally to run the zip wire operation and the whole team are loving welcoming a whole new group of people to this very special place.”
