MORAY MSP Richard Lochhead has hit back after being asked to withdraw comments and apologise.

The Moray MP Douglas Ross had made the call earlier today in a row over shielding letters sent in error to people in Moray and Grampian.

Mr Lochhead had been accused of trivialising the issue.

However, he has claimed Mr Ross was guilty of "aggressive point scoring".

“We are in the middle of a public health emergency and not a general election campaign. So I think the last think the people of Moray want to see right now is aggressive point scoring and twisting of comments from elected politicians.

"Our focus right now should be on helping constituents through this difficult time and I'm working flat out to do just that, and I don't have time for silly political games.

"The challenges facing our authorities and NHS Grampian are unprecedented, and given what workers in those organisations are having to cope with, I think we should be looking to work with them to resolve issues rather than using them for political gain."
