A group of musicians from across Moray had such fun recording a song together recently that they're now staging a concert at Elgin Town Hall.

The gig on Saturday, January 21, is being held to promote men's mental health.

Amongst the musicians set to feature are several solo artists and members of local bands, such as The Fragz, Into The Pines, Danny Mortimer and MacTa.

Also on the bill are special guest The Zebecks.

Many of these played recently on a song called 'The Conversation: I am me', which has been written by Moray businessman and musician Alan Jamieson, known by everyone as AJ.

Explaining the idea behind his song, he said: "Mental health issues have played a large part in my life from my early teens and still do to this day.

"I’m always the one happier to be there for others than to look out for myself. I'm sure many men are the exact same.

"Let’s normalise the fact that as men we can be upset without being seen as soft, struggle without being weak and that we need to talk before it’s too late. A hard conversation is far easier than a funeral.

"I have so much respect and admiration for the guys who have really got behind this project and made it a reality."

Featured on the song are: AJ (bass, ukulele and lead vocals), Ali Robertson (lead vocals), Blaire McKenzie (drums), Danny Mortimer (lead vocals, guitar), Gary Moyes (lead vocals), Angus Lawson (keyboards), Mark Aldridge (backing vocals) and Tom Morris (guitar).

Phil Wiles was the mixing engineer while Blaire McKenzie was the recording engineer.

Doors open 7pm.
